Things are pretty boring around here. Zach, is coming down with something that I pray he won't pass along to the rest of us. Jack, is just as silly as ever. Lately he has been getting very hysterical if I am out of his sight for a second including if he's left alone with Zach. The other day I left him in his play area so I could get myself ready, and he went into hysterics crying. Normally, I talk to him telling him I'll be right back, and that he's ok, etc. I remembered on that nanny show that she says not to engage with them. So this time I got ready, and I didn't say anything to him. Well, it didn't really work for us. He has also started a new thing, when I come back from whatever I've been doing he runs away from me and throws himself on the ground. He's that mad at me for being gone. I have to grab him in a big bear hug just to get him to calm down. This boy is a little too attached I think!

I used the drop in daycare service for the first time today for a few hours. I warned the ladies working there that he wouldn't want to play with the kids, and that he's probably hang with an adult. There was at least 5 little ones his age there today. He cried when I left, and when I picked him up I could see him sitting with one of the teachers while all the other kids played across the room. One of the teachers even commented on how quick he was to bond with them, but wouldn't go near the other kids. LOL. Poor Jack he's an odd duck.

So glad to hear that you decided to get him in daycare. Not a odd duck at all. Evy was the exact same way. He will grow out of this. It took Ev a couple of months, if not longer, to get used to daycare. Hang in there.

Does he watch any tv shows like you guys watched Mr. Rogers, Sesame Street where they show kids playing in groups - so maybe rent some Barney's. Group movies - with playing/singing to keep him busy with the sounds of other kids playing and sharing!!?? Yes he is very attached, Austin was very much like that when I left the room. But then he got attached to certain movies, watched them over & over which freed myself from him.And always praise him for being good & watching those kids play together. Give it a shot.

love Aunt Janetoooxxx
