Life at 1572: Julian, and Fishing

Julian, and Fishing

We had a really great day yesterday. We made the plans to get up early, and head East to Julian, and Lake Cuyamaca for some fun outdoors stuff. The goal was to be out the door by 7:30 in the morning. We didn't get out until around 8:00, but we were still really glad to get the day started early. We loaded all the gear into the car picnic lunches and all.
We arrived, and the lake was so pretty. I love the area out there. It reminds me a little more of the Midwest. Zach, and Adam were really hoping to catch some fish. Whitney and I were just content to explore the area.
We walked a trail that went around the lake. Poor little Jack is such a city boy. We tried to get him to touch the plants, and he refused. We stumbled upon pine cones, and he wouldn't have anything to do with those either. He just turned away. I think he needs to experience some more nature.
We ate our lunch on the dock, and then we stripped Jack down so he could swim in the lake. Swimming in a lake is so much fun, and I was happy he could have his first experience. He was busy kicking his legs, and flailing around.
After a few hours we packed up, and drove on to Julian. There were dark storm clouds off in the distance, and even though we didn't have an umbrella I was hoping we would catch some rain. We really miss the thunderstorms living out here. We missed the storms, and it was hot and sunny all afternoon. As usual we ended the day with a slice of pie, and drove home. Everyone passed out as soon as we got on the road. We were all so tired. All that fresh air really did us in. I posted a couple of pictures. I hope to get a few more up when I get a chance.
