Jack had his first day of preschool on Wednesday. We were both really excited about it. It will be nice to have more of a morning routine three days a week. I tried to get everything ready the night before, but everything was still a little rushed. We usually just take Zach to work, and then just come back and lounge around for part of the morning. It has been a while since we've had to be out the door by a certain time.
As I said he was very excited to go. We bought him some new shoes the night before. He hasn't worn his tennis shoes all summer, and when we tried them on they were too small. He is getting so big, we had to buy a size 9 shoe.
I attempted to take a few pictures of him, but they all turned out pretty horrible. He wasn't in a very cooperative mood, and he was talking 90 miles a minute. So, every picture he's got a funny look, and his mouth is in some sort of weird shape. Oh, well it will be fun to compare at the end of the year how much he's changed and grown.
He really had a great day. The teachers asked the parents to stay for the fist day just so we would know what their day would be like. Jack started out with the play-doh, stamping letters into it. The teacher was very impressed that he knows all of his letters. It is amazing what they can fit in such a little amount of time. They played a game, read books, made some art, played outside, had snack, danced and sang, played in the gym, and had their goodbyes. I don't have to worry about Jack being sad when I drop him off. Halfway through the morning he looked over at me and yelled, "Mom you are supposed to go home!"
I am excited for him to make some new friends. I am also happy we are going to get to start from the beginning this year, and enjoy the entire year. While we loved our last preschool our late start made me feel a little disconnected.

Oh so happy he is enjoying the time and AHHH, how I remember the "disconnect" with his dad. Seems like little boys grow up and don't need Mamma, a lot quicker than little girls. ??? Maybe that is what you both need. LOL I know. Grandma just wanting more. :)
The pictures are great. Keep the blogging coming.
Ha! I thought you were supposed to get to the teenage years before your kids sent you on your way.
He looks like he's grown so much since the last pictures I saw. Such a good looking little guy!
It is amazing how fast my little man is growing up, it seems like just last year I was getting home from a deployment to a brand new little boy. Now look at him...
Zach
I love the pictures.
especially of him sitting on the step. He looks so cute, and getting so big.
